This paper discusses using solar energy to power street lights at NIT JALANDHAR. Solar radiation is a renewable energy source that can be converted into electricity through photovoltaic cells. Stand-alone solar systems work differently than hybrid systems. The performance of solar panels is determined by their current and voltage output. The key to designing a successful solar photovoltaic system is matching the panel size and battery capacity. The number of batteries needed should meet the power output requirements.
