The study looked at how wages and incomes of employees in Slovenia changed from 1991 to 2009. They found that income inequality among employees increased during this time, especially at the very top earners. However, after accounting for taxes, the inequality in net income stayed fairly stable. The tax system helped reduce the impact of rising income inequality.
