New bridge design promises stronger, more stable structures for the future.
A new type of bridge design was created to be stronger and more stable than traditional bridges of the same size. By combining a cable-stayed bridge with arch structures, the new design can handle heavy loads without bending too much. The main girder acts as a strong tie bar, reducing the pressure on the bridge. Using computer simulations, it was shown that this new bridge design is stiffer and has less strain on the main girder compared to regular bridges.
