The resistance of 50 early rice varieties in Jiangxi province to rice blast was tested. Results showed that 36 varieties were resistant to leaf blast, 10 had medium resistance, and 4 were moderately susceptible. For panicle blast, 20 varieties were resistant, 20 had medium resistance, and 10 were susceptible. 37 varieties, including Zhuliangyou 030, showed resistance or medium resistance to both leaf and panicle blast.
