Low demand, poor states: India's food security crisis and policy challenges
Food security in India is a big problem, similar to African countries. Both lack of food supply and low demand contribute to this issue. To improve food security, we need to increase agriculture production and boost people's demand for food. Poor states in India face higher food insecurity. The government passed the Food Security Bill to address this, but improving agriculture production is crucial for long-term food security and reducing poverty. States like Bihar with limited food storage face challenges in implementing the Bill. Without considering the role of the market, achieving food security and reducing poverty will be difficult.
