The article explores the relationship between how open a country is economically and its indigenous development. By creating two indices, the researchers measured the level of openness and indigenous factors in different world economies. The results showed that there is a two-way connection between economic openness and indigenous factors. This means that indigenous factors can predict economic openness, and vice versa.
