Drought-stressed Hosta plants show remarkable resilience and recovery abilities.
The study looked at how drought stress affects the growth and photosynthesis of two types of Hosta plants. As the drought stress increased, the plants' growth and chlorophyll content decreased, while their photosynthesis rates dropped. However, after re-watering, the plants showed some recovery in these areas. One type of Hosta was found to be more resistant to drought than the other. Overall, the plants were able to recover from the effects of drought stress, with no permanent damage to their photosynthetic systems.
