Transforming Cow Dung into Odorless Organic Fertilizer for Sandy Soil
The goal of the study was to teach farmers and breeders how to turn cow manure into organic fertilizer through composting, to improve sandy soil conditions in a specific area. The researchers used a method called laminated heap composting, mixing cow dung with straw to reach the ideal carbon-nitrogen ratio. After 9 weeks of composting, the cow dung transformed into black, odorless compost with a crumbly texture, reducing its weight by 40-45%. This process helps manage livestock waste, creates healthier organic fertilizer, and enhances the quality of sandy soil.
