Longer ramps reduce bridge vibrations, improving safety and comfort for all
The study looked at how the length of ramps and the stiffness of tracks affect vibrations in the interface between ramps and bridges in railway prestressed concrete bridges. They used models of vehicles and bridges to calculate the impact of these factors. The results showed that the vibrations in the bridge were influenced by the length of the ramps and the stiffness of the tracks. The study used a 2-vehicle train to simulate real-life conditions and solved equations using a specific mathematical method.
