Female non-farm labor income can help reduce income inequality in rural southern Ethiopia. By analyzing household data, researchers found that increasing women's earnings from non-farm work can decrease income inequality. This is especially effective for households with low education and few assets. Encouraging women to engage in non-farm activities and improving their education can lift families out of poverty and promote gender equality.
