Knowledge-intensive industries in Hungary are crucial for economic growth, but they are not evenly distributed across the country. A recent study looked at how these industries cluster together in certain areas, forming 'knowledge poles'. The researchers used spatial econometrics to analyze the concentration of these industries at a sub-regional level. They found that while these industries may be located close to each other, it doesn't necessarily mean they collaborate. The study also identified differences between firms in geographical proximity and relational proximity.
