Global trade policies deepen poverty for poor farmers worldwide.
Globalization can help developing countries, but it's not working as well as it could. Rich countries protect their own agriculture, making it hard for poor countries to compete. The World Trade Organization needs to promote fair trade. Developing countries also need to improve their own policies to help small farmers succeed. Both rich and poor countries need to work together to change trade rules and practices so that the poorest people can have enough food and live better lives.
