Land reallocations in rural China drive households to participate in land rental market.
The study looked at how land reallocations in rural China affect household land rental behavior. Full-scale reallocations tend to be more equal, while partial-scale ones consider household productivity. Full-scale reallocations lead to more land rental, as they create a mismatch between household ability and land size. On the other hand, partial-scale reallocations decrease land rental, suggesting that land reallocation and rental markets are substitutes.
