They found that reducing these harmful gases could create welfare gains of around €360,000 up to €3 million when prices are higher. Yet, the benefits are not huge. On the other hand, the effects on who gets the money from this change are significant. Making pork production greener could lead to big disagreements as it would push up prices and might need new technologies to reduce harmful gases.
