Shading boosts nutrient content in alfalfa, revolutionizing abandoned farmland revitalization.
Shading alfalfa plants affects their growth and nutrient content. A study simulated different light levels on alfalfa to see how it impacted their aboveground biomass and nutrient levels. Results showed that less light led to lower plant growth, but higher carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus content. Potassium levels were not affected by shading. The C/N ratio increased with more shading, while the N/P and C/P ratios changed with light intensity. This research helps understand how shading can influence the growth and nutrient composition of alfalfa plants.
