This article compares marriage laws in Islamic law, South African law, and English law. It shows that while there are similarities, the differences are more significant. The question is raised whether Islamic law can be integrated into South African and English legal systems without compromising Islamic principles or constitutional rights. The comparison focuses on marriage requirements and consequences in each legal system.
