The article explores how technical risks in information systems projects can affect individual developers' performance and stress levels. It suggests that project managers with relevant knowledge can help reduce these risks by implementing internal and external process controls. The study involved 1,230 developers in 130 project teams managed by 20 project managers. The results show that project managers' knowledge and process controls play a crucial role in moderating the impact of technical risks on developers' outcomes. This highlights the importance of managing project risks and processes effectively to achieve positive developer outcomes.
