The euro currency, European Central Bank, and single monetary policy are key parts of the European Economic and Monetary Union. The euro has brought benefits to countries in the Euro Zone, but also revealed vulnerabilities during the financial crisis. More integration is needed for the Euro Zone to function effectively.
