The article analyzes how income is redistributed among different generations using the Single-mindedness Theory. Instead of lump-sum transfers, the balanced-budget constraint is now based on realistic labor income taxation. Some generations benefit from social security systems, while others bear the full cost. Generations focused on leisure are better off as they can influence politicians more effectively. Candidates may not have to follow the same policies, depending on individual preferences for politicians.
