Land consolidation in Xinjiang, China aims to improve land quality and productivity through organizing fields, roads, and land use. By using GIS technology, researchers analyzed the spatial organization of farmland in Beitun Oasis. The study suggests that land consolidation can enhance technical progress, increase scale economies, and support rural development in arid regions like north-west China.
