Developing countries are working with the WTO to improve trade policies and access fairer terms of trade with developed nations. They are focusing on sectors like agriculture and textiles to negotiate better market access and defend against trade barriers. While most developing countries are part of the WTO, only a few actively participate due to policy-making challenges at home. By engaging in the WTO and reshaping their trade policies, developing countries aim to boost domestic and global trade. The article examines how GATT/WTO policies impact trade and development in developing countries, and discusses trade preferences offered by the EU and other developed nations.
