Boosting Nitrogen Levels in Wheat Improves Grain Quality and Yield
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer affected the yield and quality of wheat in Yangzhou. By increasing nitrogen application after a certain stage, they found that grain yield, protein content, and gluten quality improved. To produce strong or medium gluten wheat, a specific ratio of nitrogen fertilizer was recommended, while a different ratio was suggested for weak gluten wheat. Overall, the research showed that nitrogen levels can significantly impact the quality of wheat for various end uses.
