The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer and barley varieties affect the growth of barley plants in Southern Ethiopia. They found that not using nitrogen fertilizer resulted in the best growth in terms of leaf area, crop growth rate, and dry weight. The plants without nitrogen also had the highest leaf area index. This means that barley can grow well without nitrogen fertilizer, potentially saving farmers money and reducing environmental impact.
