Intertidal zone study reveals diverse marine species distribution patterns.
The researchers studied the macrobenthic community in the intertidal zone of Jiaozhou Bay by collecting samples from 9 stations over a year. They found 110 species, with mollusks being the most common. Different stations had different species compositions and diversity. The analysis grouped the stations into four clusters based on their macrobenthic communities. The types of communities were related to the types of substrates present.
