Minimum wage increases in Romania from 2008 to 2014 did not significantly affect employment in different regions. The study looked at 42 regions and found that higher minimum wages did not lead to fewer jobs overall. The results were consistent across different ways of analyzing the data. The study also showed that having a strong manufacturing industry in a region was important for creating more jobs.
