Second-generation immigrants in Canada outperform peers in educational attainment.
Children of immigrants in Canada, known as second-generation immigrants, achieve higher levels of education compared to children of Canadian-born parents. This was found by analyzing data from the 2001 General Social Survey. Even after considering individual differences, second-generation immigrants still outperformed their peers. The results were consistent regardless of how second-generation immigrants were defined, and this trend held true for both men and women.
