Urbanization in the Bohai Rim region affects rural development. Using GIS and other methods, researchers found that urbanization levels vary across the region, with higher levels in certain areas. As urbanization speeds up, coordination between urban and rural areas decreases, leading to larger disparities in rural development. Some developed areas have low coordination, while some undeveloped areas have higher levels. To improve coordination, policies should focus on balancing development among regions, considering factors like agriculture and ecology, and promoting urbanization based on local characteristics.
