New study reveals accurate sediment concentration estimation for Mahanadi River!
The researchers estimated sediment rating curves for three tributaries of the Mahanadi River using different curve fitting techniques. They found that the dataset did not follow a log-normal distribution, so a log-transferred linear fit could not be applied. By using the Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm, they determined that a nonlinear power model provided the most accurate statistical solution. The long-term annual sediment load calculated by this model matched previously published results.
