Inflation targeting doesn't force central banks to be more aggressive.
The study compared how flexible the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve are in responding to economic changes. They looked at how quickly inflation predictions matched actual inflation rates to see if the central banks were adjusting policies effectively. The results showed that having a formal inflation target, like the Bank of England, did not make it more aggressive in controlling inflation compared to the Federal Reserve, which doesn't have a specific target.
