Adding Fertilizer Boosts Maize Growth and Yield Significantly in Various Soils
Adding fertilizer to maize crops increases their growth and yield. A study looked at different soil types and fertility treatments to see how they affect maize growth. They found that using fertilizer increased the crop coefficient of maize, except in the early growth stage. Fertilizer also significantly increased shoot yield, plant height, and distance between nodes. However, it did not have a significant effect on root traits. The biggest increase in shoot weight was seen in loam soils with a 2% fertilizer addition.
