Increasing humidity in India leads to widespread discomfort and health risks.
The study looked at changes in humidity and temperature in India from 1969 to 2007. They found that air moisture levels increased during this time, with most areas showing higher humidity. Specific humidity and relative humidity increased, especially in summer and winter. Dry bulb temperature also rose slightly each decade. The trends were most noticeable in the north, northwest, central, and southeast regions. However, some areas like Jammu and Kashmir saw decreasing humidity. Overall, the findings suggest that India is becoming more humid, especially in the summer and monsoon seasons, leading to increased discomfort for people in those regions.
