They found that the three-dimensional urbanization is still in a period of adjustment, with land-based urbanization leading the way. The major urban areas in the region are well-coordinated in terms of urbanization. Developed cities and provincial capitals show higher levels of coordination. Economic development, government decisions, and location all play a big role in how urbanization is progressing. The findings can help improve urbanization quality in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
