Watershed Management Breakthrough Promises Flood Control and Water Security for Iraqi Communities
The researchers used a method called SCS-CN to estimate runoff in the Gali-Bandawa watershed in Iraq. They found that the average annual runoff depth in the watershed is 70mm, with a total volume of 6470360 m3. This runoff represents 11.4% of the total annual rainfall. The study shows that this method can be used to plan conservation measures in other watersheds in Iraq.
