Soil conservation tillage increases soil porosity and stabilizes soil structure.
The study looked at different ways of tilling soil on a farm in Slovakia. They found that using less intensive tilling methods increased the density of the soil, especially in the top layer. However, this increase was less in deeper layers. These methods also improved the soil's porosity, or how much air and water it can hold. Overall, using these soil conservation techniques was effective in dry conditions and caused fewer changes to the soil compared to traditional tilling methods.
