A study tested a system using coagulation and sand filtration to clean greywater. They found that this method reduced turbidity, BOD, and COD by 94%, 76%, and 80% respectively. It also removed over 99% of coliform bacteria. Smaller sand grains worked better than larger ones. The system consistently produced high-quality water, meeting reuse standards.
