Colombia's Informal Sector Evolution Shapes Urban Employment Landscape.
The article analyzes how the informal sector in Colombia impacted employment from 1984 to 2000. It looks at different ways to define the informal sector and how it changed over time. The study identifies three main sub-sectors within the informal sector: salaried workers, entrepreneurs, and subsistence workers. Each sub-sector responds differently to economic conditions. The findings suggest that the informal sector is not dominated by one type of worker, making it hard to make generalizations about it.
