This article explores how SWOT analysis can be used in planning for local government and the public sector. The researchers looked at existing literature, online sources, and data from a social experiment to see how effective SWOT analysis is in strategic and operational planning for local communities. They found that SWOT analysis is a useful tool for decision-making in local government and the public sector, but it also has its limitations. The study includes a summary of SWOT analysis methodology, examples of its use in Greece and abroad, and conclusions drawn from the social experiment data.
