Approval Voting: Ensuring Fair Elections and Better Representation for All
The article explores how different voting systems affect voter coordination in elections with three candidates. They compare Plurality (vote for one), Anti-Plurality (vote against one), and Approval Voting (vote for one or two). Approval Voting consistently elects the Condorcet winner, providing better outcomes than Plurality. Through simulations, they find that Approval Voting almost always elects the Condorcet winner, while the other systems do not. This shows that Approval Voting is more effective in ensuring the best candidate wins in elections.
