Optimal wheat variety and density boost yields for farmers in Arsi Zone
The study tested different wheat varieties and plant densities to find the best combination for optimal growth and yield. The variety Hidassie with large seeds and a plant density of 300 plants per square meter showed the highest number of seedlings, tillers, and grain quality traits like kernel weight and hectoliter weight. This combination also resulted in the highest grain yield and economic returns, making it the most cost-effective choice for wheat producers in the area.
