White tiles reduce heat moving through your roof and make your roof cooler during hot times. This means less hot indoor rooms and less need for air-conditioning, saving energy. Changing from red to white tiles can lower roof temperatures by up to 16.00 °C and save you 13.14% on energy bills yearly. Scientists are working on special paint for non-white tiles to make them reflect more sun, helping houses stay cooler without needing white tiles.
