The article examines the conditions and mechanisms affecting the professional growth of school staff, focusing on teachers' salaries, workload, and opportunities for development. Only 42% of Russians view teaching as prestigious, and despite a rise in nominal salary from 2013-2020, real wages decreased. The quality of conditions for teachers' skill development varies by region, with the percentage of teachers completing advanced training ranging from 26.4% to 98.2%.
