The study looked at how the layout of a city affects the weather in its streets. By examining the streets and buildings in Thessaloniki, researchers found that the way streets are arranged, the buildings around them, and the presence of green spaces all play a big role in how hot or cool it feels in the city. They used a computer program to simulate different scenarios and found that the design of the city can make a big difference in how comfortable people feel outside.
