Revolutionizing Cotton Farming: Organic Fertilization Boosts Yields and Weed Control
The researchers studied how using different organic fertilizers and weed management methods affected the yield of cotton plants. They tested four types of organic manure and four weed control treatments in a field experiment. They found that applying composted poultry manure with the recommended nitrogen dose resulted in lower weed density, better weed control, and higher cotton yield. Hand-weeding and power weeder weeding at specific times also improved cotton yield by reducing weed growth and nutrient competition. Overall, using composted poultry manure with power weeder weeding or hand-weeding at specific times can help reduce weeds, increase yield, and maintain soil fertility for cotton crops.
