A study was conducted in Manipur to see how different ways of managing weeds in blackgram plants grown in acidic soil affected their growth. They tried nine different methods, like using herbicides and hand weeding at different times. The best results came from using pendimethalin and hand weeding twice, which reduced weed growth and increased the number of pods and overall yield of the plants. This shows that a combination of herbicides and hand weeding can help blackgram plants grow better in acidic soil.
