European Union Enhances Aviation Security to Ensure Sky Safety for All
The European Union has put in place regulations to ensure high levels of safety in aviation. These regulations were updated in 2008 to improve existing procedures. The European Aviation Safety Agency was established in 2002 to oversee aircraft certification and maintenance. In 2008, its responsibilities were expanded to include aircraft operations and aircrew licensing and training. These measures aim to enhance aviation security and safety for all European citizens.
