The article provides detailed information about the population, rural-urban status, and amenities available in Barpeta District, Assam, from 1901 to 2001. It includes data on the number of villages/towns, population at different census years, and the population of urban agglomerations. The study also highlights villages with populations of 5,000 and above, as well as towns with populations less than 5,000, along with their amenities. Additionally, it covers the houseless and institutional population in different areas of the district.
