CMIP6 Models Improve Climate Projections, Revealing Uncertainties in Future Weather.
The study compared past and future rainfall and temperature predictions from different climate models. They found that newer models (CMIP6) are better at predicting historical climate than older ones (CMIP5). Uncertainty in rainfall predictions was higher for certain scenarios (SSPs) compared to others (RCPs), while temperature predictions had higher uncertainty for different scenarios. Overall, both rainfall and temperature are expected to increase more in the far future than in the near future according to the models. This research helps improve our confidence in future climate predictions using the latest models and highlights differences in uncertainty between scenarios.
