New coagulants outperform traditional method in purifying drinking water.
The study compared different coagulants for treating water at a treatment plant. Ferric chloride was the most efficient, followed by aluminium chloride and chitosan. When used together, the coagulants were even more effective, with the best results seen with a combination of aluminium chloride and chitosan. These coagulants are good alternatives to the one currently used at the plant, as they perform similarly well in removing impurities from the water.
