The goal of the study was to update soil texture maps for Australia by combining field descriptions with lab data. Researchers recalibrated soil texture centroids and developed a method to convert texture class data into continuous variables. This new approach increases the amount of available data and improves the accuracy of soil texture estimates in the Australian soil database.
