Residents in Southern Ontario show positive attitudes but hesitate to plant native trees.
Urban forests are important for our cities, and cities are making plans to manage them better. These plans want to use more native trees to help the environment. Researchers studied people in four Ontario cities to see how they feel about native trees. They found that most people like native trees, but not everyone wants to plant them if they are dangerous or expensive. Even though people like native trees, they don't always choose to plant them. This shows that we need more education and native plants in stores.
